After High School I knew I wanted to go to college, I just had no clue what I wanted to do with my life.
- I don’t think many people really know at the young age of eighteen nor should they be expected to.
There are so many courses that are general to all degrees I knew that I could get those out of the way before declaring my Major. I was always sort of a nerd in school and opted to hang out in the library or with my science minded friends so I figured I would settle on something where I could use those skills. I overheard some of my classmates talking about a new program that the college had just become certified in the area of medical plant chemistry. At first I just assumed that this had to do with GMO plants but then I learned that I could actually work in the very profitable field of medical cannabis. Growing and developing new strains of marijuana that were very specific to various ailments. I thought this was really cool and never knew that a degree could get you into the pot growing industry. It makes sense though because whether it is in the smokable form or and extraction from the plant to create CBD oils it a growing industry that needs to have qualified people working in it. Now I just have to convince my parents and get the understand that working at a cannabis facility is a good career choice. That may be the hardest part of choosing my Major.
